Privacy Policy
Kitchen Edge Vault (“the App”) is designed with privacy in mind. This policy explains what information the App handles, how it is stored, and the choices you have.
1. Summary
- We do not require an account to use the App.
- Your tools, edge logs, photos, and settings are stored on your device.
- We do not sell your personal information.
- We do not operate a cloud sync service for your vault data.
2. Information You Provide
The App may store the following locally on your device:
- Tool names, tags, sharpening preferences, and maintenance notes
- Edge check records, including dates, statuses, and optional notes
- Photos you attach to records or tool profiles
- App preferences such as display name, reminder settings, and checklist progress
- Before/after comparison pairs saved to your gallery
3. Device Permissions
Depending on the features you use, the App may request:
- Camera — to capture edge photos for logs and comparisons
- Photo Library — to import existing images or save exported images
- Notifications — to send optional local sharpening reminders you configure
You can deny or revoke these permissions in iOS Settings. Core logging features may be limited without camera or photo access.
4. How Data Is Stored
Vault data is saved in the App’s sandbox on your iPhone or iPad. Deleting the App removes locally stored data unless you have separately backed up your device through iCloud or a computer backup.
5. Notifications
If you enable reminders, the App schedules local notifications on your device. These reminders are generated from your tool and edge data and are not sent through our servers.
6. In-App Purchases
The App may offer optional in-app purchases (for example, coin packs). Purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive your full payment card details. Apple may provide us with purchase confirmation information needed to deliver the product.
7. Analytics & Third Parties
The App is intended to operate without third-party advertising trackers. If we add analytics or crash reporting in a future version, this policy will be updated before those features launch.
8. Children’s Privacy
The App is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
9. Data Retention & Deletion
You can delete individual tools, records, templates, and sessions inside the App. You may also use the clear-all-data option in Vault settings. Uninstalling the App removes remaining local data from your device.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will reflect the latest revision. Continued use of the App after changes means you accept the updated policy.
